Campaign

Side Battles

Encouraged. Not compulsory. But as advertising from the 1980s - just do it.

How It Works

Players can participate in up to 2 games per month that include fighting for or defending territories. However, anyone keen for more bloodshed can play additional scenarios. These do not generate reputation or credits (from the scenario) - just XP for gangers. Injuries from previous matches, such as fighters in recovery, carry over into and out of these games.

As always, three- and four-player games are not only welcome but encouraged.

Players can choose any scenario they want, are recommended to pick ones from their House of... books, or can roll a D6 on the table below.

Side Battle Scenarios

D6 Scenario Notes
1 14. Downtown Dust-Up Two gangs brawl through a crowded settlement with civilians in the way. Both crews deploy scattered across the board alternating placement. Bystanders can be caught in the crossfire - getting them killed costs reputation. Drive the enemy off or wipe them out.
2 18. Archaeo-Hunters Both gangs are after the same rumoured archaeo-hoard, guarded by a roaming mining automata armed with a meltagun and rock cutter. Control the automata to crack open the vault entrance. Custom crew (D3+7). The gang that gets into the vault wins.
3 19. Escort Mission The defender must shepherd an uphive agent safely off the board while the attacker tries to stop them. The agent moves with the defender's crew and is treated as a fighter. Defender wins by getting the agent to safety; attacker wins by taking the agent out of action.
4 21. Murder Cyborg A routine gang fight takes a nasty turn when one fighter is revealed to be a Murder Cyborg with full eradication protocols active. Custom crew of 8 each. Both gangs must deal with the cyborg - whoever destroys it wins. Any other result is a draw.
5 25. Claim the Spire Both gangs scramble up towers and walkways to hold the highest ground. Score 1 VP per round for having the highest-placed fighter, plus 1 VP per enemy taken out of action. Terrain should feature tall spires and connecting gangways - the higher the better.
6 29. Monster Hunt A massive beast is loose and both gangs want the bounty. A Sump Horror (or equivalent) stalks the board independently, attacking anyone nearby. Hybrid crew (D3+7). Whoever lands the killing blow on the beast wins.
